What problem are you trying to solve for yourself?
I heard business guru Daniel Priestley ask that on a webinar this morning and thought wow, what a great question!
On the webinar, the question related to what you want your business to be like, but it applies in all sorts of other situations as well.
Think about it.
If you’re not happy at work, what problem are you trying to solve for yourself by staying there, or not speaking out?
If you’re stuck on something, what’s the real problem you’re trying to solve for yourself? Because it’s probably not the one you’re agonising over.
If you’re eating or drinking too much, or not exercising enough, what problem are you trying to solve by behaving that way?
I then asked myself the same question in a reflective practice session with Michelle Lucas and pennies started dropping all over the place.
A useful reminder of the power of a great question to unlock insight.
